Using a Straumann® implant with the appropriate Straumann® superstructure, the manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty on the material and guarantees the absence of any material defects or breakage. Only genuine Straumann® parts certified by the serial number stored in the original Straumnn® Patient Passport are used. For this reason, care should be taken when installing implants, as there are numerous copies of dubious and untested quality.
Many competing companies only “copy” basic implant design from others without investing in osteointegration research, clinical trials, implant quality and longevity, which is why their products are initially more affordable but not of higher quality.
Straumann® implant maintenance
The longevity and durability of prosthetic superstructures on Straumann® implants as well as the implants themselves is only possible if proper oral hygiene is maintained, which includes regular cleaning and maintenance of the prosthetic parts after each meal. Specially designed small implant brushes make it possible to clean the implant system well and to use chlorhexidine (CHX) mouthwash. Also, regular check-ups by the dentist are important, and should be done at least twice a year, while an x-ray should be done once a year to analyze in more detail the condition of the implant and prosthetic superstructure. To prevent inflammation of the dental tissue, it is necessary to clean the prosthetic-implantologic system of hard dental deposits at least once a year in the office setting.
